Comfortable hiking trails lead along clear lake bogs up to the Jaufenpass, from which you can enjoy an incomparable panoramic view. Especially families, hikers and active holidaymakers will find relaxation and recreation. A particularly impressive view you get when you walk in the direction of Kleine and Hohe Kreuzspitze. By good weather, the views of the Texel Group extends to the Zillertal Alps. Let your view roam over of the glaciers of the Stubai Alps and the Ötztal Alps.

Which hiking routes are mostly recommended?
Directly at the mountain orbit station Ratschings-Jaufen there is the starting point of the high mountain hike, which passes along 7 pastures and is particularly ideal for families with children. According to your fit condition the hike can be started both from Flading or from Jaufenpass. The whole alp route takes around 4-5 hours and covers a difference in altitude of ca. 410 metres.
More challenging is the Pfeifer-Huisele path, which starts at Hotel Larchhof in Flading. As first step during the valley hike you will reach the end of the valley, from where you go up to the old Klammalm and then to the lake Butsee. This thematic path is enriched with 10 info boards which talk about the legend of witch master Pfeifer Huisele. For this route you would need around 6 hours for overcoming a difference in altitude of ca. 990 metres.
Shorter but not less interesting is the walk through the Gilfenklamm. The starting point is Stange or Gasthaus Jaufensteg, the ascent takes ca. 1 hour, while the descent around 30-45 minutes. With roaring waterfalls and the castle ruins of Reifenegg here you will experience a natural spectacle.
